Background: Yures' mother was one of the first Bajoran refugees to reach the Federation thirty years ago. She was a slave to a Cardassian, and a fight in a bar between her master and a human in Starfleet, Josef Kuehl, led to Kuehl rescuing her. He took her home on the U.S.S. Heisenberg, the ship he was the captain of. They fell in love, were married, and started a family.
Yures grew up in Nuremburg, Germany, Earth. It was an uneventful life. It was only after he reached his teen years that he started wondering if his parents had inadvertantly started the war with Cardassia. His father's job led young Yures to a career in Starfleet. However, the loving and caring enviornment he grew up with, so different from what he may have had, led him to an interest in medicine. As it happens, his gifts are such that he could never be a doctor; however, he is bright and caring and is a fantastic nurse.Personality: Yures is a warm, quiet person. His demeanor and excellent bedside manner made him a natural for chief medical assistant on board the civilain heavy U.S.S. Cochrane. He knows his tendancy to put his given name first tends to annoy his mother; who also still reminds him to dress warmly and eat regulaly. He gets annoyed with her pushing him to make her a grandmother.
