Background: Salvitor began his Starfleet career in the normal fashion, focusing in the academy on engineering. But, after the first year, a combination of the strict regimen of studies and a lack of interest in engines drove him to drop out. His desire to serve the federation had not subsided, however, and he enlisted to serve aboard the U.S.S. Pantheon in the security division. The time was constructive and even slightly enjoyable until the Chief of Security retired and Lt. Fay Risk took over. Less than two months later, Salvitor had requested a transfer out of security.
His next assignment found him assigned as a science aid in the hydroponics lab at the Atlantis Project on Earth, assigned to seed replication. It was here that he truly began to excel. His personal life also bloomed with his introduction to a fourth year cadet named Yeram (also a Bolian). By the time of her graduation, the two were formally engaged. Yeram was assigned to the Atlantis Project immediately upon the completion of their bonding ritual. The two worked side by side as he rose to the position of Chief of Operations for the hydroponics division and in raising their two children, Nosh and Liam.
Although he is self taught and does not hold a degree, he is considered one the of Federation's foremost experts in Xeno-agriculture and Botanic Engineering. His skin may be blue but his thumb is green. He requested assignment aboard the U.S.S. Cochrane to become part of its historic crew. Starfleet was set to provide him with a full commission of Lt. Commander, but he refused out of humility and respect for the uniform. After much negotiation, he did except the title of Chief Petty Officer in Hydroponics and as Head Groundskeeper for the Board Walk. He answers directly to the Board Walk manager and operates out of the civilian branch of the Cochrane.
Personality: For all of his expertise with plants, his secret is that he is an extremely insightful people person. When you're ready to rip the replicator off of the wall in frustration, he'll show up with fresh coffee grown in his personal garden, or on your birthday will show up with a bouquet of flowers only known to exist on a single planet. No one knows how he does it.
