Background: Ned McGlintly, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., Earth, has had an un-noteworthy career in Starfleet. Through shear longevity he has risen through the ranks. He has only once been a part of a new crew, but that experemental ship was removed from service after only one year. He, invariably, was transferred to posts after someone very good at what they were doing went elsewhere. He rarely measured up.
During his most successful assignment, he met Marcie, the love of his life. Today, the two of them are married ... with children as well. When the Cochrane assignment was offered, he jumped at the chance. It was his chance to be a part of the crew from the very beginning and finally make his mark.
Personality: Well meaning, but swaggering. He used to fancy himself a Ladies' Man but was never that good. He is a competent, but all in all, unimpressive officer.
