Physical Description: Like most of her species, Dovenka is slim, with sharp, angular features. Her large brown eyes are alive with curiosity, and she smiles more readily than one would think normal for a Cardassian. However, her gaze could best be described as "penetrating," and she habitually carries an aura that she knows far more than she's letting on. Her thick, glossy black hair is usually worn down, the top part held back from her face with a simple silver clasp and the ends just touching the small of her back. She wears flowing layers in subdued jewel tones, and simple black shoes.

Background: Dovenka comes from a family which had made a name for itself in the ranks of the Obsedni Ordar (Obsidian Order in Fed Standard) for generations, up to and through the occupation of Bajor -- indeed, she spent some of her childhood on Bajor and had made frequent trips to Terok Nor (DS9) during her father's many tours of the place. She is not old enough to have witnessed the beginning of the occupation, but her curiosity forced her to find the real answers -- not the propaganda her relatives had had a hand in spreading. During her younger days as a student, she ran away from the Order's academy and travelled to remote parts of Cardassia and then to Bajor itself. The journey changed her considerably and when she returned to Cardassia, she denounced all ties to the Order and decided upon diplomacy as her chosen profession. As the Order was, at that point, somewhat out of favour and on the brink of disbandment anyway, her decision was not met with nearly the adverse reaction it would have encountered earlier. Rather uneventfully, she applied for and was accepted to the position of Ambassador to the Federation, her curiosity about them and their policies, decisions, and moralities being the driving force behind her choice.

Personality: In a word--curious. Almost obsessively so. She wants to know everything about everything and everyone, a trait she shares with the rest of her family. This curiosity, however, forced her to discover the truth about a great many things, and she has become wise beyond her years because of it. As a result, she feels she must eventually do whatever she can to help in making reparations with the Barjorans, however, she has decided she must learn all she can about the Federation, first. Her sense of humour, which surfaces quite often, could best be described as "snarky," and she does not suffer fools gladly. Some may uncharitably describe her as "arrogant." However, she is bright and charismatic and is able to win many individuals to her side through nothing more than her own enthusiasm. Her scholarly tendencies means she can come across a bit didactic at times, though.
