Background: A native of planet 114-Delta V, Fay's marriage to a Betazed man and the taking of a last name shortly after entrance to Starfleet Academy seemed to go against a majority of her culture's beliefs. But in reality, Roberto Agra was an eager and open mate, willing to provide her with the love she desired while also allowing her the freedom to express herself in the manner her genetics required. Therefore, when the young man was killed shortly after graduating from the Academy during the Dominion War, the Detlan was heartbroken but moved on with her life.
Fay's interest in all things oral soon led to her recognising the importance of a healthy mouth; she became interested in denistry. Being a Ship's Dentist is generally considered an unglamourous, non-critical position but she thinks it is important.
Her training included enough general medicine that she can help out in sickbay during an emergency. She has been assigned aboard the Cochrane because the large civilian population is probably less diciplined, and therefore more likely to need her skills.
Personality: She has the cute friendly personality that was, on the 20th Century Earth, reserved for the dental hygenists, but is a fully trained dentist. As a product of Deltan culture, she takes having a friendly "bedside manner" very seriously. The Oath of Celibacy, once required of Deltans entering Starfleet, has been phazed out in the past century, as it was inherently biased. Fay simply is a Starfleet professional and tries to avoid making people uncomfortable.
