Background: Aeth Nik was born on Bajor twenty-three years ago. She reached puberty before the end of the Cardassian Occupation was over, and a lecherous Gul in her district had noticed her beauty and charm. As such she ended up being spared much of the physical torture her fellow Bajorans endured; at least of the usual kind. And the emotional torture may have been worse.
After the occupation, her natural assets led her to the not particulaly lucrative career as a Dabo Girl at Quark's on Deep Space Nine. After a mere nineteen months of this, she bartered passage to Earth on one of the many ships that passed through the station.
But her time on Deep Space Nine had affected her. The dignity and respect the Starfleet personel had shown her while she was a Dabo Girl was always light years ahead of how she was treated by the Bajorans, Ferengi, or any of the various traders who passed through the area. And parsecs ahead of the Cardassians. She decided to dedicate her life to Starfleet.
She joined the Starfleet Acadamy shortly after her arrival on Earth. She has only recently graduated, and the Cochrane is her first assignment.
Personality: Bright and bubbly, at least if you talk to her. The truth is that there is a dark underside to her personality that she works very hard to keep in check. She is very helpful and hardworking, trying hard to live up to a standard that she, deep down, doesn't believe she can achieve. She enjoys partying and having a good time whenever possible.
